Bangladesh wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur rahim went under the hammer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction being held in Kolkata today but the 32-year-old remained unsold.
The base price for Mushfiqur, who was in the wicketkeeper category, was 75 lakhs rupee. Mushfiqur was not initially part of the 971 players who registered for the IPL auction, but he was part of 24 additional players who were added to the list after their names were requested by the franchises.
However, Mushfiqur still has a slim chance of making it to the IPL this year. If any franchisee shows interest in the player then after the bidding for all the players are completed, Mushfiqur’s name might once again come up during the auction.
Other than Mushfiqur, the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mohammad Saifuddin and Sabbir Rahman will also undergo the hammer.
